Airbus sought to challenge the legacy limitations of aircraft interiors. Traditional cabin layouts were inflexible, expensive to retrofit, and often misaligned with evolving passenger demands. The airline industry needed a future-facing solution that could adapt rapidly to changing business models, seasonal travel patterns, and differentiated passenger experiences, without incurring prohibitive reconfiguration costs or downtime.
We collaborated closely with Airbus and A³ to develop Transpose, an entirely modular cabin system that functions like removable "pods", ranging from coffee shops to gyms, co-working spaces, and lounges. We led the strategy and UX direction for a dynamic configuration platform, allowing airline operators to drag-and-drop modules via tablet and instantly visualize layout and revenue impact. Our design sprint approach included rapid prototyping, visual design, and simulated passenger journeys, culminating in a full-scale immersive concept showcased at CES in Las Vegas.
