Empowering People to Drive Lasting Change
Post-pandemic, Vitality faced a challenge familiar to many high-growth global companies: how do you design a workplace people actually want to return to—one that supports hybrid work, reflects your values, and performs as well as it feels? Leadership needed to ensure that every design decision—from furniture to flow—reinforced their brand purpose of helping people live healthier lives. But they also had to accommodate the full range of employee needs across functions, workstyles, and schedules. They needed a strategy rooted in behavioral data, but executed with emotional intelligence.
geniant worked with Vitality to shape a space-first return-to-office strategy anchored in employee personas and dynamic neighborhood planning. Each department was mapped into “anchor,” “agile,” or “hybrid” configurations based on mobility and function. The design layered in moveable furniture, shared tech, and portable charging to give people true flexibility. Spatial zoning emphasized “me space” for quiet focus and “we space” for collaborative energy—punctuated by amenities like phone booths, lounges, and even a dance corridor with motion-reactive lighting to spark joy. The project was structured to meet WELL certification across 10 dimensions including nourishment, mental health, and acoustics—underscoring a true commitment to holistic wellness.
